Inspiration for Senior Moment Solutions, LLC
Although I spent many years working in healthcare, I was totally unprepared to care for my dad when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. My siblings and I tried our best to care for him but we were always exhausted. It eventually was too much for our mom as well.
Looking back, I realize how stressful it was for our entire family. We barely survived each day and found ourselves reacting to each medical crisis rather than creating a plan together. We were not prepared to be caregivers - we were only prepared to love our parents no matter what.
After completing this end-of-life journey with my parents, I decided to help others prepare for caregiving and hopefully avoid a crisis like we experienced. After becoming a Certified Professional Coach and Certified Caregiving Consultant, I created Senior Moment Solutions, LLC. I now focus my efforts on helping adult children understand what they will face as their parents age. I provide elder care information and connections to resources, senior-friendly lifestyle options and criteria for selecting caregivers. Having experienced hospice care with my dad and later as a hospice volunteer, I provide extra support to families during this difficult end-of-life experience. As a trained bereavement facilitator, I also provide grief support groups and conduct workshops on many caregiving topics.
It would be an honor to work with you and your family on your caregiving journey.
Dedicated to supporting family caregivers
